Art History II is a one-semester course that builds upon discipuli understanding of the formal and contextual methods of identifying, interpreting, and evaluating ideas in art history. It continues the chronological development of major themes, movements, and issues in Art History from Renaissance times through contemporary New York City art. Progression in art analysis is realized though independent research.
Assessments throughout the semester include seminar, research papers, interim and final assessments. Interim and final assessments consist of extended writing formats.
Discipuli are expected to:
• Conduct independent research using texts and internet resources
• Participate in Socratic Seminars
• Conduct writing assignments such as papers and Analyzing a Work of Art Worksheets
